Hi, I’m Ruslan.
I’m a seasoned engineering leader with over 15 years of experience turning ideas into scalable, high-performing products that drive growth and innovation.
As an entrepreneurial Head of Engineering and CTO at 15 Seconds of Fame, I’ve not only built and scaled product platforms from the ground up, but also led and mentored teams of 30+ engineers to deliver exceptional results.
My expertise spans machine learning, microservices, and AI integrations, as well as optimizing performance and costs across major cloud infrastructures.
I thrive in environments where I can transform concepts into tangible solutions, tackle meaningful challenges, and foster a culture of collaboration and impact.
Building 15SOF: Turning Moments Into Memories
In 2014, I joined 15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF) with a mission to turn fleeting moments into lasting memories. Imagine being at a stadium, catching yourself on the big screen, and wishing you could relive that excitement forever. My role was to make that possible by building the entire platform from the ground up, from mobile apps to the backend infrastructure, designed to capture and deliver those magical moments to fans worldwide.
I envisioned and implemented scalable cloud solutions on Azure and AWS, ensuring the platform could seamlessly serve millions of fans across major leagues like the NBA, MLB, NFL, and NHL. I integrated AI-driven facial recognition and scene classification models, allowing fans to receive their unique moments almost instantly. At the same time, I focused on optimizing user experience within the mobile apps and implemented robust security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
What began as a bold concept became a groundbreaking reality—an innovative platform that set a new standard for fan engagement, blending cutting-edge technology with emotional connections.
Bringing Drew Barrymore’s Virtual Audience to Life
When Drew Barrymore launched her daytime talk show during the pandemic, she took on an incredible challenge: bringing the energy of a live, interactive experience to a world stuck at home. That’s where my team at 15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF) stepped in.
Using cutting-edge WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology, we made it possible to connect a virtual studio audience, overcoming tough obstacles like inconsistent networks, corporate firewalls, and the demands of scaling up for massive groups.
By mastering adaptive bitrate streaming, deploying TURN servers, and fine-tuning cross-browser compatibility, we turned technical challenges into game-changing solutions.
The result: A groundbreaking talk show format that blended innovation with heart, setting a bold new standard for daytime TV and connecting a global audience like never before.
Technology Alignment: Every product must be supported by the appropriate and robust technology to meet its purpose.
User Interface Excellence: The user interface must be intuitive, accessible, and seamlessly connect users to the product’s capabilities.
Reliability and Completeness: Technology must operate reliably, covering all use cases to ensure consistent performance and trust.
Security Assurance: Systems must be secure by design, protecting user data and maintaining privacy and integrity.
Engineering Foundation: Engineers serve as the structural pillars, driving innovation and upholding the integrity of the technology.
My Principles
Talent Alignment: Identify and recruit the right engineers with the skills needed to successfully complete the job.
Workflow Optimization: Organize the development workflow to streamline operations and maximize efficiency.
Scalable Architecture: Define a scalable, event-driven architecture that meets current and future needs.
Comprehensive Documentation: Ensure all appropriate diagrams and documentation are developed to support clarity and alignment.
Code Quality: Guarantee the code is clean, maintainable, and aligns with the architectural blueprints.
Production Reliability: Ensure the code runs error-free in production, delivering consistent and reliable performance.
